Anjanetta Hondras began her career as a hairstylist in Chicago at Dudley’s Beauty College. As she pursued her education to become a cosmetologist she participated in numerous competitions, which would serve to make her a more talented cosmetologist. One such competition was the annual Proud Lady beauty show in Chicago, Illinois. Upon graduating from Dudley’s Beauty College in 2001, she went on to develop her skills by taking advanced cutting and coloring classes.
As a means to further develop her own clientele she obtained a position as a junior stylist for AJ Johnson of Ajes the Salon, also located in Chicago, Illinois. This experience allowed her to continue her education while also building relationships with other more experienced stylist. After working as a junior stylist for over two years she began to work as an independent stylist on the south side of Chicago. Although life as an independent stylist was rewarding, she soon began to realize that salon ownership was ultimately what she aspired to do.
After years of laboring under the tutelage of other stylists, she began to plan her own dream salon. In March 2007, those dreams became a reality with the opening of Johariel’s Salon, which soon became a premiere hair salon on Chicago’s south side.
